Review of Bakery China 2018

 

The 22nd edition of Bakery China, organised by the China Association of Bakery & Confectionery Industry (CABCI) and Bakery China Exhibitions Co. Ltd, will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (No. 2345 Longyang Road) from May 6-9, 2019. As one of the most premier platforms for bakery and confectionery industry in the world today, Bakery China 2019 extends its warmest invitation to you.

Bakery China 2019 will continue to occupy all 17 exhibition halls and outdoor spaces of the Shanghai New International Expo Center, with a total of 12,000 standard booths covering 220,000+ square meters exhibition space. These 17 halls will be classified as:

Hall E1-9 + N5: Ingredients

Bakery China gains further support from foreign governments

Over the past decades, China's baking market has maintained a two-digit rapid growth, making it attractive for the international baking industry. Leading brands as well as groups formed by many small-and medium-size companies have entered the Chinese baking market. Since 2016 government delegations from Germany, USA, France, Italy, the Netherlands, and Australia have started attending Bakery China. In 2019, the organizer will bring together Mechanical Engineering Industry Association (VDMA), Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA), Agricultural Trade Office (ATO) Shanghai, Italian Trade Agency, Agriculture & Food office of Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Shanghai, Commercial Investment of Consulate General of France in Shanghai, Australian Committee for Trade and Investment and the Singapore Government to Bakery China to showcase a wide range of international baking products with better quality and higher standards.

First Bakery China Innovation Award

As a professional platform covering the whole baking industry chain, Bakery China is always the preferred stage for launching thousands of new baking products and technologies every year. Meanwhile, the organizer also gives great encouragement and support to companies who want to launch new products and technologies via technical forums and pressconferences. In order to encourage baking practitioners to invent in morehealthy and safe baking products and technologies as well as to facilitate the sustainable development of the baking industry, the organizer will initiate the first ever Bakery China Innovation Award for Ingredients, Equipment and Packaging. The selection phase for this award has recently kicked off and all exhibitors of Bakery China 2019 are welcome to participate.

World-class contests attract global talent

Bakery China is not only an event show casing excellent baking products and technologies from across the world, but also an arena of bakery championship. Jointly organized by China Employment Training Technical Instruction Center, China National Light Industry Council, the Trade Union of Financial and Commercial Workers, Light Industry and Textile Workers, Tobacco Industry Workers, and CABCI, the 20th National Professional Baking Skill Competition will be held concurrently. As China's most authoritative state-level baking competition, it consists of multiple sub-competitions, such as the National Cake Decorating Skill Contest, National Bread Making Skill Contest, National Mooncake Contest, etc. Other competitions like the 9th Wang Sen Food Cup - Creative Western Pastry Competition of the National Vocational School (College) Students and the 5th MBA Coffee Latte Art Competition, will present excellence in baking and coffee-brewing skills.

It is worth mentioning here that the Coupe Louis Lesaffre, considered by many as the World Cup of bread making, held every four years, will showcase its China regional tournament at Bakery China 2019. Winners of this tournament will represent China to compete at the Asia Pacific Tournament, and will even have the chance to go to Coupe de Monde de la Boulangerie in France.

Various keynote forums for learning and development

Apart from attracting premium exhibitors and trade visitors, Bakery China is also an exchange platform for the entire industry to present cutting-edge ideas. Besides continuing the original contests and high-end forums from previous years, Bakery China 2019 will assemble all forces from the baking industry to present a series of technicaland business forums related to bread, pastry, chocolate, pizza, light foods and other classical bakery products. Subsequently, bakery masters and world champions will be invited to share their experiences and help Chinese bakers transform their business technically as well as artistically.

The coffee, beverages, ice cream and light foods zone was first launched in 2015. Over the past four years, it has witnessed how baking and allied industries have promoted consumers’ lifestyle towards slower and healthier practices. In 2019, this zone will be expanded to cover more than 20,000 square meters.
